QR PB15 Tender

The 3ft6in gauge PB-15 Class were built throughout the early 1900's by Walkers Ltd at Maryborough. The locomotives were of 4-6-0 wheel arangement, and were a variant on the B-15 Class of the 19th Century.

Early examples were fitted with Stephenson valve gear, but those built from 1924 onward were fitted with more modern Walschaerts motion.

Designed for passenger work, these locomotives were a common sight on Queensland's suburban and branch line services until their withdrawal during the late 1950's.

Several examples of the class have been preserved and restored to working order for use on tourist trains, and No.738 can be seen regularly working on the Rosewood Railway between Cabanda and Kunkala, West of Ipswich.
