BR 9f Black Prince

BR Standard 9F 92203 was the third 9F built by Swindon in January 1959. The loco was withdrawn after less than 9 years of working heavy iron ore trains out of Liverpool Docks to Shotton Steelworks. The locomotive was purchased straight from BR by the artist David Shepherd. He named the loco Black Prince, a name never carried by any of the 9F's, indeed the only 9F named was 92220 Evening Star.
