GWR Cornwall England Railway Branch Session 5
GWR Cornwall England Railway Branch Session
Diesel and steam locomotives display (issue 5).
This is session that features The Evening Star BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 steam locomotive.
BR Standard 9F 92220 was the last steam locomotive built for British Railways in March 1960.
This unique steam engine was given a special livery of BR Lined Passenger green, complete with a copper capped double chimney.
All other members of the 9F class locomotives where painted unlined black.
The BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 is a class of steam locomotive that was the last in a series of the standardised locomotive classes designed in the 1950's for British Railways by Robert Riddles.
This locomotive was designed for the use of fast, heavy freight trains over long distances, and was one of the most powerful types of steam locomotives ever built in Great Britain.
At various times during the 1950's the standard 9F's worked passenger trains with great success, indicating the versatility of the design, sometimes considered to represent the ultimate in British steam development.
Your task as a train controller is to observe and make sure that the trains arrive at their designated destination points.
Weather conditions, date and time can be changed by using the QuickDrive menu in driver mode.
