VR B T1 58-62

Built from 1958 to 1961 using underframes from scrapped I, IA, and KF wagons, these general purpose box vans were built to cater to an increase in 'van' type goods traffic not suited to louvered vans in the 1950s, and as a stopgap till more bogie vans of similar types could be built. From construction till withdrawin in the 1980s, these vans saw several modifications, including additional gussets around the body/frames, and steel floors for palletised goods.

This model represents a Victorian Railways B van to suit 58-62 era, when rated for 13 tons, and as fitted with timber shunters steps and original frame gussets.
