CR NG14mflat

Commonwealth Railways 14.3m - 3ft 6inch gauge flat car Code NRH - 187 of these flat cars were built
by Wiles Engineering in South Australia, Industrial Steels in NSW, and Tomlisons in WA. As built,
53 were to be used on the CR narrow gauge line from Maree to Alice Springs,and 131 on the Standard Gauge
Transline (code RG). Many of the RG wagons were converted to narrow gauge to alliviate a shortage
of flats on the line to Alice Springs. When the new Standard Gauge line was completed to Alice Springs,
these flats were converted to standard gauge.
