Along UTA lines
This is a highly accurate recreation of the former LMS NCC lines from Belfast York Rd to Larne, Portrush and Derry in Northern Ireland. This route recreates the scenic nature of the remaining lines out of Belfast, with the double track Larne line hugging Belfast Lough, passing through Carrickfergus, coming close to the sea by the cliffs at Whitehead before turning west along the coast and inlets to the spoil quarry at Magheramorne, and finally Larne Harbour where the line makes a connection with the boat to Scotland. The mainline has steep gradients from Belfast, passing through Co.Antrim's undulating farming land to Ballymena, where the line becomes single with passing loops. The scenic seaside branch to Portrush is also featured, along with the coastal section along the beaches and cliff section at Downhill, before crossing the flat but scenic Antrim Plateau to Derry City,
