NSWR CKF Wagon 23427

CKF Wagon of NSWR.

The CKF wagon was a short lived wagon, having only been around for service a mere 7 years all up and then in 1983 all the CKF wagons were scaped.

These wagons were slightly changed KF, K & U wagons, mainly U wagons so they could carry ISO containers over the 7 years they worked on the NSW rail system, They all were made with timber floors but also having four container lugs, centrally positioned on the wagon so the ISO container didn't shift around while it was being moved.

The number 23427 is the first of the CKF wagons to be made in the CKF format in april, 1969. The last one still in use was 27142 in july, 1976, with all the CKF wagons being condemmed in 1983.
