Homasote board first was introduced in 1916, as 'Versatile Homasote Board,' an un-sanded panel, strong and lightweight with excellent weather-resistant properties.

For 100 years Homasote, has been the only manufacturer of its kind in North America. Homasote's environmentally-intelligent building and industrial packaging products made of 98% recycled materials are truly unique, both in their manufacturing processes and their dependable fiberboard construction performance.

Homasote shipped its products from the Ewing Township, New Jersey location on centerbeam flat cars using the Trenton industrial track on the (now) CSX Trenton Line.
