Broad Gauge 7ft 0¼in
Brunels Broad Gauge Track 7ft 0¼in. A basic representation of Brunels 7ft 0¼in Broad Gauge Track. Orginally developed for and used on his Great western Railway. It was abolished in 1846, when parliament decided that all railways should be a 'Standard Gauge'. Brunels Broad Gauge was far superior than Stephensons gauge, and would ahve allowed maximum speeds with maximum comfort. Unfortunately, it was decided that it was cheaper to change Brunels Gauge to 'Standard Gauge', as there was more of Stephensons Gauge. If you wish to enhance this model further, please contact me for the source files.
