SF CDR Third 59

Company: County Donegal Railways Joint Committee. Gauge: Three feet. Third class six-bay carriage no 59, was bought second-hand from the Ulster Transport Authority in 1951. It had originally been built by the LMS Northern Counties Committee on an 1874 Ballymena & Larne Railway coach underframe and numbered 351. Its original task was forming part of the Larne to Ballymena narrow-gauge boat train. It had a slightly lower roof height to that of the usual CDR stock, and was one of the two longest carriages to run on the system at 50 feet. It was sold in the 1961 auction.
