Wylam Dilly

Wylam Dilly, flanged Wylam colliery loco of 1813, built by William Hedley. Originally built to a gauge of 5 feet, this 4-wheeled version is the second variant Hedley experimented with but the axle loading was too great and it broke the cast iron rails used at the time. This model is in memory of Ricky Sykes 1942-2008.
