L&BR point 4 exits

The Listowel & Ballybunion Railway was a monorail built on the Lartigue system. The carrying rail was mounted one metre above the ground. Consequently points (switches) were turntables which were rotated to connect up the running rails. The table (bridge, spinner) was curved, resulting in some quite complex geometry and interesting shunting. This table is one of a set of three. They should be used for running rails with complete trains passing over them. They were not used for turning stock - at least not officially. Instead a more conventional straight turntable was provided at each of the line's two termini loco sheds. See the prototype track layouts at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.flanders/trainz/default.htm for guidance on placing and using these tables and the Lartigue system in general. With thanks to bendorsey and andi06 for their help sorting out the curved tables.
