MTU HST Engine
Engine sounds for refurbished class 43 HST's. MTU's first origonated on the Great Western Mainline in 2005, being fitted to 2 prototype FGW Powercars. Once succesful tests had been carried out, FGW started to re-engineer their entire fleet, at the same time, GNER re-engineered their HST fleet as part of their Project Mallard. Cross Country trains also fitted MTU's into the former Midland Mainline powercars that they use and Network Rail has recently re-engined theirs. Now, most HST fleets across Britain have been given MTU engines, with only Grand Central with the origional Valenta engines and Midland Mainline with the new VP-185 engines.
