PKP Ashx 26W st.W-Wa Szczesliwice

26W type special salon coach. This coach was built in 1939 by H.Cegielski factory in Poznan for the CIWL company as a restaurant for their prized trains. It was not completed until the begining of the 2nd world war. During wartime the coach was designated to be finished as a salon car for the 3rd Reich military officials - eventually not completed again. Finally the coach was ready in 1946 and entered service as No 01 Ashx - designated as the socialist party's Prime Minister's salon coach. Today it is preserved in the Warsaw railway museum.
