PKP SP45-206 301Db ZT.Nowy Sącz

In the mid 1960s polish rail industry was experimenting with new types of locomotives. Around 1965 HCP factory managed to start the creation of a new universal diesel locomotive on 3 axle bogeys. After 2 year 301D prototype was ready. Four years later after many changes and improvements first locomotives of 301Db type, on PKP SP45 class, left the factory. More then 250 units of this class were built and became the main power of the diesel express fleet on PKP.
