CSD T679.1 399 DKV.Leopoldov

CSD T679.1 class was the czechoslovak version of the well known M62 class. CSD used 600 diesels of this type starting in 1966. As with other eastern block countries, the M62 class was a majority, even with the home production of CKD diesels. In the late 1980s with heavy electrification of CSD routes, the large fleet of T679.1 diesels was much bigger then the actual needs. Many locomotives were put aside. Only a small percent of them still served CD and ZSR in the early 1990s. The last were still found in service in 1996 and even 1999. Some were sold to Hungary, Poland and German private operators.
