Bsig(3182f) DivB+ShuntCLeft s-1931 b-welded
Belgian welded bracket with 2 welded dolls, 1931-type 3-position signals, for left divergence and shunting. Effectively a 2-position signal: Both stop arms show red and green only, as block signals for a block configuration with separate distant signals. Shunt left (confined: violet and yellow only) is activated through a SHUNT modifier. Uses Bloodnok feathers Left and Straight.

Belgian mechanical signalling, which was phased out during the latter half of the previous century, has received little attention and little photographic coverage, in contrast to its British ancestor. The Belgian association P.F.T. has published Histoire de la signalisation ferroviaire en Belgique - Tome II, a monograph on this subject (in French). For the proper use of Belgian signals, signal rule books should be consulted. These are either in French or in Dutch.
