VR Type 'G' Station - Casterton

This is a faithful replica of the bespoke VR Type 'G' Station that once served the town of Casterton on the short, 32 mile/51 Kilometer branch line that ran from Branxholme (on the main line to Portland) to Casterton, in South Western Victoria, 245 Miles/392 Kilometers from Melbourne. The station building was 'unusual' (but by no means unique) amongst the Type 'G' stations, in that, unlike most of this type, the exterior of the structure made use of a darker (longer fired), brownish coloured brick, rather than the usual 'Australian standard' red brick. As the terminus, it had the honour of being the most prominent edifice on the line and it served the township for the entire duration of the line's existence. The line was opened in 1884 in two stages, initially to Henty and then to Casterton and after the last train was run in 1977, the line was closed. Because this asset comes complete with it's own 'built-in' platform, as per the prototype, it is 'Passenger Enabled', utilising a number of the Bloodnok scripts (supplied with this asset's kuid-table) to control the stopping of trains at the station. In line with the prototype, the asset is provided with typical VR country station nameboards in ithe form the excellent ''VR Station Sign Timber'' assets created by S301 (the ''9l'' version to accomodate the station name) but the name has not been applied to them in the asset's config.txt file, so the station may be used to represent a location other than where it is intended and named accordingly, if it is desired. Many thanks are endebted to S301/ZecMurphy for the use of his 'proprietry' texture for the ''Station Building Signs''. This asset is intended for use in Trainz version TS2009 or later.
