VR DDE Class Saturated E-spec - 1

VR D4/DDe class tank locomotive (Saturated) Espec
The DDe/D4 class steam locomotives were constructed between 1908 and 1913 at the Victorian Railway's Newport Workshops. They were designed for hauling suburban passenger trains. When the suburban network was electrified these locos were used for shunting, suburban goods trains, and some outer suburban and country services. In 1924 many were reclassed as 'D4' locomotives. Only one of the class survives, this being D4 #268.
