MMRR GP-38-3

General Motors Electro Motive Division broke the 1000 hp barrier by releasing its 2000 HP GP-38 in January of 1966.

The GP-38 diesel electric locomotive is capable of 2000 HP from its 645, 16 cylinder engine. Overall 733 GP-38's were produced for the US, Mexico and Canada.
