Police Box Met Mk 1

This is a representation of a Metropolitan Police telephone box. The version modelled here is the Mark 1 design, which differs slightly from the more familiar Mark 2. A small number of police boxes remained in use until the 1980s. However, most were demolished during the 1960s and 1970s as they wer rendered obsolete by the introduction of personal radios. More recently the design has been used as the basis for a CCTV camera support.
