Coal Tipple 5
Upgraded with industry-interactivity.
This side dump 13 bin coal tipple is based on the Colorado Coal & Iron Companys coke facility tipple at Cardiff, Colorado
and was done from photos taken around 1907. Coal was loaded into the original from 40,000 and 50,000 lb capacity drop
bottom gons then dumped into small mule pulled or man pushed 10-1/2 inch gauge ore trams underneath. The unload a
car trigger on top is above the center of the bin section. There is no built-in interactivity to load a car or engine below
the chutes since track gauge would determine the distance of the center of the rails from the ends of the chutes. This can
be implimented by adding coal loading dummies under the chutes and connecting with track. The chutes are too close
together to do every chute but every other chute is possible. Even though the trigger radii are smaller then normal the car
on top may re-load if it stops too close to the bottom trigger. I suspect this is a function of the trigger radius associated
with the car. Use this with my coke oven sections to make a coke oven complex or separately for your own idea.
