Lenticular Truss 1B
The Lenticular Truss design for railroad bridges gets its strength from a pair of laminated wooden arches
attached to the regular structure of the bridge. The name derives from the curved arches resembalance to a concave optical
lens. This is NOT a heavy duty bridge. Engines were limited to light weight 4-6-0's to 2-8-0's or smaller with 4-4-0's being the
most common. This is a 1 truss section bridge.
