Drovers Caboose

In the cattle area of western USA, passenger ridership on short lines rarely justify passenger service even
though there were times of ridership on a seasonal basis. Several railroads solved this problem by converting an old boxcar to
what was called a Drovers Caboose for the cattle drivers (sometime called drovers) who made up the bulk of riders. Facilities
were spartan at best. Hard seats and a coal stove being pretty much the limit of amenities but it beat riding your horse 100's
of miles back to the ranch after delivering the herd to the rail head.
