Hicapyflat 5 body
Some flatcar loads while relativly small were be so heavy they exceded the axle loading limit for a standard (2 bogie) flatcar.
Several Railroads modified flatcars by replacing the normal two bogies with two bolsters with bogies at each end which then attached to the
underside of the car body in the same manner as the original single bogie. This reduces the axle loading by almost half. Sometimes the problem
was length as well as weight. One solution was to center the load on a high capacity flat and place idler (empty) flatcars at each end to accomodate
the overhang. This is the body section with 60' sections of pipe as a load. Assemble this car in Surveyor by placing the body section on the track
then select the bolster (kuid2:210518:6501:1) and place them half way between the center of the body and each end. Next select the idler flat
(kuid2:210518:6506:1) and couple one at each end of the car. Finally, it will be necessary to rotate one of the idler flats to get the brake wheel out
of the pipe load.
