Midland Tar Tank Wagon

Midland Tar Distillers rectangular tank Wagon. Built in the 1880s for carrying tar, a bye-product of gas works to processing plants. Suitable for use in the Midlands of Britain. Similar wagons continued in general use into the 1940s and into the 1970s as internal user wagons at Gas Works and chemical plants. It has working BlueStar couplers.
