kurrajong 1
The Richmond to Kurrajong Railway was opened in 1926 and closed after 26 years in 1952 owing to a cutting landslide near Kurrajong. The bulk of goods traffic came from the Nepean Sand and Gravel Siding. West of the Hawkesbury there was a little citrus produce transported. The river was spanned by a steel and masonry bridge built concurrently with , and beside the road bridge. The Sydney to Richmond line opened in 1964 and has been electrified now.
Apart from North Richmond, ,nd Kurrajong, stations were just stopping places. The regular train consisted of a 20 class tank locomotive called 'Pansy' hauling 2 American suburban carriages. At times there were 6 trains a day. The line is shown from Windsor to Kurrajong. at about 1950. The line was built to Pioneer Standard and was un-fenced.
