Narrow Gauge Simple

A 2ft gauge railway, set in a parkland location. The track circles a lake and travels through some rugged but charming parkland.

From the station, the route passes past the local cricket ground and the yard for the line, into a passing loop, which allows for more than one train to run at a time.

The line goes past the boat club and the Traveler's Rest Inn, and approaches the automated level crossing. Passing this you see the nature reserve visitor centre with it's play area and picnic areas.

The line curves now to the east, towards the river bridge and tunnel. The railway bridge runs parallel to, but further upstream of the pedestrian bridge.

After the tunnel the line curves again towards the Woodland Loop. Trains travel at 10mph through here to begin their return to the station. The footbridge to the centre of the woodland area is a popular spot for children to watch trains pass!

The line has a 15mph top speed limit, with 10mph limits at loops and 5mph limits at the crossing and to the station platform.
