NH Shoreliner I Cab
Based on a Pullman-Standard design from the late 1960s, these cars were dubbed 'Shoreliner' by the Metro North as they would only serve on shoreline routes. The Control 'Cab' cars contained a driving cabin to allow push-pull operation when combined with a single locomotive.
The Shoreliner cars replaced the ageing fleet of Penn Central commuter cars, the majority of which belonged to the New York Central and the New Haven railroads pre PC merger.
