Siemens P2000 LRV Engine Sound
The LRVs used on the Gold Line are 26 of the 52 locally-assembled Siemens P2000, which were built between 1996 and 1999, but did not actually enter service until this year. The cars are numbered 227-250, plus 301 and 302, the latter being capable of automated operation, which will not happen on the Pasadena Gold Line. They are identical to the units in service on the Norwalk-Redondo Beach Green Line. Service is every 10 minutes during peak times, 12 minutes during the day, and 20 minutes at night. Weekend daytime trains operate every 12 minutes apart. Fares are $1.35, with a surcharge for transferring to buses or the Red Line at Union Station.
