Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway
'Forget motor cars, get rid of anxiety and dream again the ambitious Victorian dream which caused this long railway to be running through deepest, quietest, flattest, remotest, least spoiled Somerset'-Sir John Betjeman in his 1963 TV film Branch Line Railways.
Welcome to SDJR from 1876 when the Midlands Railway and London South Western Railway created the SDJR company together from exsisting SCR and DCR companies. The line runs across the mendips over masbury summit from Bath Green Park to Broadstone and onto the LSWR main lien the Bournemouth West station.
The Layout also includeds the three branch lines to Burnham-on-sea, Bridgewaterand Wells. The layout also incoprates some of the many coleries that where along the line. The layout also includeds realistic climes to Masbury summit and accurate layouts of every station along the S and D Lines. The line also includeds all of the other lines that crossed the S and D system. Run locos across the main lines from the Fowler 7fs to the Standard 9f and Builled light pacifics. So I Hope you enjoy running this layout as much as I have building it.
So welcome to the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway.
