MKVI Monorail Blue cab

The Bombardier built Disney World Mark VI Monorails started service in late 1989, and have been in constant operation since. The cab contains the driver's console and passenger seating around the inside of the big picture window. The vehicle consists of the 'cab' on the front of a standard 'car' body. Each train has four cars in between cabs facing opposite directions at each end, and always travels as a single unit--the vehicles cannot be uncoupled. The trains can be driven from either cab, or in a driverless mode using a Moving Block System (MBS) for train control.

The original system used twelve trains identified by color, so there are no engine numbers. The original colors were: Blue, Red, Green, Black, Gold, Silver, Pink, Coral, Orange, Lime, Purple, and Yellow.
