Wrexham Mold & Connah's Quay Railway 0-6-2T No. 17
Wrexham Mold & Connah's Quay Railway 0-6-2T No. 17 built by Beyer Peacock Ltd. at Gorton Foundry, Manchester. Basically the same loco as the MS&LR 9F and actually owned by the MS&LR, two locomotives were numbered 17 & 18 and wore WM&CQR livery which enabled the MS&LR to exercise running powers over the Wirral Railway. This model is a representation of No. 17.
The initials of the Wrexham, Mold & Connah's Quay Railway gave rise to the nickname of the 'Wretchedly Managed & Confoundly Queer Railway', due to lack of money for investment and passenger services never reaching Mold and only managing to take goods to Connah's Quay!
Thank you to camscott for kindly allowing this reskin of his freeware GCR 9F model to be uploaded to the DLS. Camscott's license conditions apply.
The model uses skipper1945's E4 class interior.
