A SW1500 switch engine.
Reporting marks SDIY 2500.
This is a late version of of an SP SW1500, which has had much of the distinctive SP light package removed, and FRA mandated ditch lights installed. It also has a cab roof beacon installed for yard switching duties.

All dependencies are either built-in (TS12), come off the DLS, or can be found at RRMods.

History:
Line opened as San Diego & Arizona Ry between San Diego and El Centro in December 1919.
Company reorganized as San Diego & Arizona Eastern (an SP subsidiary) in 1932.
Line devasted by Hurricane Kathleen in September 1976, and SP suspended service.
The San Diego Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) purchased the following segments in 1979:
- San Diego to El Cajon
- San Diego south to the border (near San Ysidro)
- Plaster City west to the border (near Campo)
Kyle Railways contracted to operate the lines, including the Mexican portion (owned by Sonora-Baja California Ry).
Line operated by Kyle as San Diego & Arizona Eastern Transportation until 1984.
In March 1984, MTDB signed agreement with RailTex to operated the line as the San Diego & Imperial Valley Railroad (SDIV).
SDIV began service on October 15, 1984.
RailTex acquired by RailAmerica on January 4, 2000.
Line currently operated as San Diego & Imperial Valley Railroad (SDIY) by RailAmerica.
Mexican portion sub-contracted to the Carrizo Gorge Railway (CZRY) in 2002.
