Set Signal Ahead
NOTE: THIS COMMAND WILL ONLY WORK WITH SIGNALS THAT CAN RESPOND TO REMOTE CALLS OF FUNCTION 'SetSignalStateEx'. MANY SIGNAL ASSETS CANNOT DO THIS. THE COMMAND WAS DESIGNED TO WORK WITH THE LATEST (SEPTEMBER 2012) REVISION OF SIGNAL SCRIPT 'vsrsemaphoresignal'. CONTROL OF SIGNALS THAT DO NOT USE THIS SCRIPT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE CREATORS OF THIS COMMAND.
Driver command to set the state of the next signal ahead on the driver's current path. Searches the track ahead of the train and identifies next signal. Ignores signals facing the wrong way.
Automatically resets signal when train passes.
Signals need not be named.
WARNING: The train company will procecute signalmen who use this facility without first ensuring that the line is clear of traffic.
User is responsible for knowing what states a target signal can assume. The signal-state options presented for selection by a user are the most common only and not specific to a given signal.
User is responsible for returning the signal to automatic if the train does not pass the signal.
If the command fails to complete then there are more than ten trackside objects between the leading vehicle and the first signal.
When the command is entered into an AI Driver's schedule in advance of a session being played, the user must be sure there are no intervening signals between the AI Driver's train and the intended target signal at the point in the session where this command is executed.
The search for signals commences at the centre of the leading vehicle and is carried out in the direction in which the train is facing.
