MULTI-TRAIN CONTROL (Chalkdale)

NO DRIVING REQUIRED, MOSTLY WATCHING.
** NOT SUITED TO LOW_ PERFORMANCE PC's.

While 7 passenger trains ply the Chalkdale system in continuous loops, 2 random freight trains under AI control are spurned every 15 minutes from the portals to service the various industries, gradually increasing the number of trains to a maximum of about 17 after 1.5 hours.

Your task is to keep watch on the various portal trains and intervene with manual control if unplanned holdups occur (e.g. switch a lazy junction, or revise the scheduled route, or temporarily over-ride the AI system using 'Stop Train', drive manually for a few seconds, and 'Resume Schedule'. Occasionally, severe bottlenecks will arise with AI trains adopting unexpected alternative routes, but in most cases the normal route is eventually resumed.

The most common causes of interruption to normal AI running are:

* Stalling just outside the portal
* Failing to detect first trackmarker in the scheduled route
* 2 AI trains facing head-on in a stalemate
* Not braking sufficiently and running through a red signal

Due to the random selection of portal trains, every session will be different.

The first portal trains arrive at 10:16am.
