BR Class 423 4VEP TSO NSE
Formation: DTC + TSO + MBSO + DTC
In it's brief existence, NSE created many variations of its livery, this model represents the 2nd version, as introduced from 1987, this version was applied to many if not the majority of the VEP fleet. The livery had a darker blue stripe and the omission of the BR doublearrow, unlike the first version of the livery. NSE commenced refurbishing the fleet in 1988 which brought another livery variation, although the last examples remained until 1994, when the last units were refurbished.
The British Rail Class 423 4-VEP (Vestibule Electro Pneumatic) 3rd Rail EMU was argueably the backbone of British Rails Southern region fleet for 38 years (1967 - 2005), although intended for semi stopper work, they were often seen on express and suburban services as well. They were the most numerous of all Southern EMU types, with 194 built, they operated on all three Southern Region Divisions (Those being South Eastern, South Central and South Western Divisions).
My thanks to garygreen for allowing me to use his luggage cage textures.
