LNER Worsdell/Smith C8

The NER 4CC Class was a Smith type four cylinder compound locomotive. Two locomotives were built at Gateshead in 1906 and were very succesful on express passenger services. Unfortuneatley Smith died before any more could be built and the class remained as only two locomotives until theyt were scrapped in the 1930s.
