VR DD Class Superheating E-spec - 1 (TS09)

Although the DD was considered to be a successful design, it had a key shortcoming in that it's boiler performance was not sufficient for the traffic demands being placed on it. In 1914 an experimental superheater was fitted to DD 882 and was found to be very successful and later fitted to DD's and A2's still under contruction from 1915, in 1924 DD 882 was renumbered to DD 720 with 19in Cylinders.

This e-spec is setup for the DD's which was built new with Schmidt's Superheating and 18in cylinders with 175 Pounds per Square Inch Boiler Pressure.
