VR Platform - Moolap

Moolap is a Railway Station on the Geelong–Queenscliff railway line that opened in 1879, the Station was opened Augest 1881 and sitting at a height of 27ft above Hobson's Bay Low Water Mark, it was located on the Geelong side of Moolap Station Rd at 49.8 Mile Post from Melbourne.

This model represents the station as built from 1881 till 1920 when the line was 60lb/y rail, some of the line was upgraded from 1920 with 75lb/y, most some of the line still had 60lb/y when it closed in 1976, Moolap closed in 1936 due to the roads being upgraded and the Trams that ran out near Cheethams Siding.
