VR M Class Diesel-Hydraulic - Weathered
The Victorian Railways M Class Diesel-Hydraulic was build at Newport Workshops in 1959 and was the first Diesel-Hydrualic shunter built for the VR
This model represents the As Built in the VR Red and Black Paint 1959/1960s.
Engine: GM 6-71 2 stroke.
Max r.p.m: 1950.
Power: 111.9 kw into Transmission.
Transmission: Allison Torque Converter with rear Disconnect Clutch T.C.R.D 554.
Wheels: 0-6-0 Via 1 Speed Reversing Gearbox.
Weight: 30.5t.
Top Speed: 20kph.
Tractive Effert: 17,500lbs.
Batteries: 6x 4volt cells - 24volt Total.
Diesel: 1682 liters.
Lube Oil: 27 liters.
Cooling Water: 45 liters.
Torque Oil: 91 liters.
Reversing Oil: 95 liters.
