Victorian Railways Y Class was built at Pheonix Foundry Ballarat 1889.

This Model Represents the tender for Y class locomotive as built from 1889 till 1895, This tender was later painted into the simple 2 tone lining paint.

(reduced water capacity by 4tons to give correct water consumption over distance and added to tender unloaded mass)
