VR I T2a 1890+

The Victorian Railways Type 2 I Wagons were constructed from 1860 to 1862 with Timber and Iron Braces bolted with a drop down door which seems to be standard to that time period and had a few body variations. I believe this wagon was designed for use on constuction trains by having a lower body to load Ballast and track parts.

This model represents the wagons built by Williams 1860 to 1862 with a rather unique axle box that where built during that time and had sheet metal to brace the timber with prototypical running numbers from the 1907 register using new built wagons from 1889 to 1897 as a guide. Numbers 46 to 49, 54 to 56 and 81 to 95 where built 1860, numbers 137 to 306 where built 1861 while numbers 98 to 101, 103 to 115 where built 1862 replacing earlier built wagons that where damaged, a few numbers from this builder didn't last long either as some where replaced with Williamstown Workshops I wagons from 1865. These wagons where restricted to Workshops from 1890's to move locomotives parts around and workshop tools. Between 1897 to 1903 a large number where scrapped with just number 83 in service after 1904. In 1892 number 83 was modified with 'Nobles buffers' and in 1902 was fit with Westinghouse through brake pipe.

Notes: I have the commodities setup to full goods loads and I recommend putting these wagons at the back of a train to avoid brake problems if you do use them on the mainline. You can identify rollingstock with through brake pipe and airbrake by a 'White Square' or a 'White Plus' painted on the frame so I recommend putting these wagons at the back of a train to avoid brake problems if you do use them and mix them with airbrake stock.
