VR I T6a - 1897+

By 1870s the Victorian Railways was expanding rapidly across the state and was in need of new rollingstock of a Standard Design, the 8Ton and 10Ton Open Wagons where constructed from 1875 at Williamstown Workshops, during that year contracts where made at other Guilds and by 1880 there was over 1000 of these I Wagons with variuous design changes based on how each shop built them.

This model represent the 8 Ton Wagons after rebuilding at Newport Workshops between 1894 through to 1907 with through brake pipes and cast iron brakes blocks, the wagon is based on builders from Williamstown Workshops 1875-1888, Tozer 1875, Wright & Kdwards 1875-1876, Harkness & Co, Sandhurst 1878 and Phillip Bevan 1880-1887. These Wagons lasted into the 1920s and where scrapped between 1920 and 1930s while the 10 Ton wagons where in service into WW2.
