VR I T6c - 1897+

By 1870s the Victorian Railways was expanding rapidly across the state and was in need of new rollingstock of a Standard Design, the 8Ton and 10Ton Open Wagons where constructed from 1875 at Williamstown Workshops, during that year contracts where made at other Guilds and by 1880 there was over 1000 of these I Wagons with variuous design changes based on how each shop built them.

This model represent the 10 Ton Wagons after rebuilding at Newport Workshops between 1894 through to 1907 with Braced timber doors, cast iron brakes blocks and a 6in x 12in Combine Brake Cylinder, the wagon is based on builders from Williamstown Workshops 1875-1888, Tozer 1875, Wright & Kdwards 1875-1876, Harkness & Co, Sandhurst 1878, Phillip Bevan 1880-1887 and Port Melbourne Shops 1885-1888. These Wagons lasted into the 1940s/50s and where scrapped because they could not be converted to Auto Couplers.
