Telegraph 20wire
US/Canadian type 1-3 spar 10-30 wire telegraph pole splines. These replace the previous UTC telegraph pole sets, and are TRS2004 compatable. They are very accurate in dimensions, although in reality the height varied, these ones are all 10 metres high (approx 33ft), but you can adjust the height in Surveyor. The insulators were made of green or clear glass. In the UK, telegraph poles were used for signal and points relay switching, communications, and higher voltage lines, between signal boxes, relay stations and sub-relay boxes. Telegraph poles of various configuations were a common sight beside the railway trackside. They are now mainly replaced by pvc insulated ground layed cables. After installing, go into Trainz Surveyor, Objects Panel/Splines under USA, Telegraph Poles, the rotating 3d thumbnail does not show them up too well (as wires only). They can be placed ANYWHERE on your layout, not just by the side of the track. When placing by the track and IF they do not appear, place a little away from the vicinity of the track and they WILL then appear, then move them back again. These models and textures were created with Discreet's GMAX and Paint Shop Pro programs. All models tested on an Athlon 2400XP, with ATI Radeon with latest drivers, WinXP, and TRS2004, date
January 2004.
