NSW Illawarra & Southern Highlands Part 2

Located one hour south of Sydney NSW, the Illawarra region is centred around the coastal industrial City of Wollongong and the deep water port at Port Kembla. Coal and wheat are the main products moved to the port from other districts in NSW.
A single line makes it way to Unanderra while a dual line takes traffic into the industrial area at Port Kembla. Coal from areas of NSW are despatched from the Coal Terminal, while wheat from western NSW is handled by the Grain Terminal. Steel products from the steeklworks are hauled by road and rail to other districts.
This route is Part2 in a series of 3 and covers from Port Kembla-Wollongong-Unanderra but is not quite prototypical.
The era covered by this route is mainly NSW diesel locomotive power but electric services handle passengers from Wollongong to Port Kembla and Unanderra.
