Canadian Pacific Railway flatcar 1023. Reskinned with permission. Auto numbering removed and replaced with the fixed number 1023. Original V & T flatcar (Central Pacific) kuid:2:124060:15001:1.
30' Wooden flat car built for the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in 1872 by the Central Pacific Shops in Sacramento, CA.
These cars were built to 30' CP plans, as the CP shops had lost the original 24' Virginia & Truckee flat plans.
Originally yellow, the majority of these cars were repainted red by the 1890's
15,500 pounds unloaded; 12 ton capacity
Link and pin couplers; hand brakes only
Supports cordwood, 16' logs, lumber, and misc goods.
Supports MLOG and ProtoLARS
Based on plans by Gary Caviglia, NG&SLG Sept/Oct 1986
