D&RGW K-37 Mikado #494

The K-37 class was built by the D&RGW in combination with the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1928 through 1930. They were built at the Burnham Shops from C-41 class 2-8-0 standard gauge locomotives. They were primarily built to haul the larger loads over the likes of Marshall Pass and Cumbres Pass.
The #494 started it's life as C-41 #1020 in 1928. It was retired in 1962, and was sold to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR in 1970. It is currently on static display in Alimosa, CO.
