PLL LMS 7 Plank Open wagon (D1671) pre 1936 grey large LMS, large stripe

A LMS standard 1923 7 plank open wagon (LMS Diag 1671) with bottom, end and side doors in LMS pre-1936 grey livery with large LMS lettering. The white stripe denoted which end had the end door.
Between 1924 and 1930 22251 examples had beeen built, these had random running numbers. Between 1935 and 1940 another 8546 had been built numbered 600000-60700 and 60800-609545, but most of these would have been turned out in the new bauxite livery which was introduced in May 1936.
By the late 1950s there were very few left in service as they had been largely replaced by more modern wagons by British Railways.
